Rice research ranks among nation's best for patents
Rice University has become the nation’s leading research university in industry impact for the quality of its patents, according to a company that analyzes intellectual property. The Patent Board, a Chicago firm that ranks companies for the prowess of their properties, rated Rice No. 1 in the “Industry Impact” category in its rankings of research universities.
Through Baker Institute, students discover Mongolia
The James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy usually rewards its interns with a trip to Washington, D.C. But over the summer, the Baker Institute sent two Rice students beyond the country’s borders. Instead of seeing the nation’s capital, the students visited Mongolia to work on projects in conjunction with the American Center for Mongolian Studies.
