For collaborative research, Rice receives a boost
Rice University has received a significant contribution to launch its Collaborative Research Center. The John S. Dunn Research Foundation has awarded the school a $3 million grant to initiate collaborative research studies in biomedical science. The center, which will allow Rice researchers to work with their peers from the Texas Medical Center, will open in 2009.

James Dunham, professor of viola and chamber music, said the group has become "an ensemble of musical depth and exploration."
